Drum pad not working properly

Postby kb25430 » Wed Apr 21, 2010 12:26 am

Hello,

I have a GH:WT drum set that was purchased mid '08. It was working great untill lastnight the red pad wasn't responding properly. However, I'm not sure if there is something wrong with the actual drum pad, or the sensor. One thing I noticed is if i run my hand across the pad, the red pad feels a little soft in the middle, as if it was a 2 ply material.

Since I'm going through the trouble I'm going to automatically replace the sensor anyways, my question is if i should buy the drum pad aswell?

(The circut board isn't the problem)

Thanks.

Hi

Under the rubber on the drum pads there is a layer of foam which often wears away in the middle if you are hitting it hard and often!

You dont need to replace it but what you may experience if you do not is double hits when you hit it hard as too much of the vibration is being transfered to the sensor, You can correct for this with the drum tuning kit if needed.

My advice would be to just change the sensor unless the red pad is really battered in the middle.

Thanks
