Guitar Hero 5 Strum Switch

HELP!

I borrowed a friends copy of Guitar Hero 5 for the Wii this weekend and despite carefull handling the downstrum is not registering correctly.

I've looked on your site and the bay and it suggests that the switches you sell are not appropriate to repair this "newer" style of guitar. Where can I source a replacement in a hurry?

Thanks

Andy :(

Hi Andy

welcome to the forums

As we are based int he UK we do not have the new GH5 guitars here yet. In the Uk the Gh5 games are still being sold with GH4 guitars (the ones with the 'sunburst yellow' cover not the newer red ones as shown in the picture below). We are not aware of anywhere else you can get GH5 switches but as soon as we get our hands on a GH5 guitar we will see about stocking them. If you do take yours apart we would love to see what is inside the newer guitars so send us some pics!

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Yep, thats the one that broke. Although the Wii version with a cutout for the Wii controller.

I can assure you that it was purchased in the UK recently. Seeing as it is new, I'll try to get it replaced under warranty by Activision. Do you have any idea what their warranty department is like to deal with.

I did look at opening it up, it uses Torx screws under the faceplate, with one obscured by a dreaded "Warranty Void if Removed" sticker.

And did you buy your guitar with GH5 / Band Hero / standalone?

The warranty helpline for Red Octnace are pretty good if you are within your warranty period (3 months I think) just hope over to their website they will put you through to a call center in the states and arrange for a new one for you - all very prefessional!

Tell us how you get on
