Broken Bass Pedal Wire

Postby Tom Collins » Mon Nov 02, 2009 8:27 pm

The wire that goes from the bass pedal to the main drum unit was ripped out. It attaches with a plug to the drum unit, but is (was) hard wired to the pedal. Is it possible to open the pedal and solder the wires back on? I do not see any screws to take appart the pedal to get to where the wires attach.

You can open the pedals up by removing the foam pads on the base to reveal the screws but you cannot solder the wires back onto the sensor as they are just too thin for it

Is it possible to buy a replacement sensor with the wire attached? If not, can you buy a replacement pedal? If so, where and about how much is it? Thank you for your help.

Does the Band Hero Replacement Foot Pedal work with the older guitar hero drum set? or only the new band hero set? Do you expect to have Guitar hero replacement pedals any time soon?

Having a similar problem where my Bass pedal is not working on Band Hero, PS3. ( Have posted in Band Hero forum but doesn't seem to be a lot of activity there - :( )

Dismantled and discovered even direct hits to sensor only produced intermittent bass hits.

Bought a replacement piezo sensor but cannot get right quality of connection to get it working (wires too thin). Is there a repair kit with sensor and connected wire+jack or a replacement pedal?

Have checked spares store but there is no wire kit & doesn't appear there are any full pedal spares. When will you have a kit/stock of pedals?

thanks

Hi thanks for posting in the forums

Unfortunately although we have tried it has proved impossible to create a reliable repair kit for the bass pedals, as you have found the wires are just too small to work with.

We will be advertising more bass pedals in the next couple of days so keep checking!

Thanks

I ordered from you, and received, a green drum head last week to replace one that stopped working on my wii band hero drum set. I followed the tutorial and replacement was easier than I imagined...problem solved! Thanks...
However, now the dumb drum pedal won't work. There is no sign of damage, the wires weren't torn out and the connector appear in good working order and fits well into the purple plug on the drum set and it was working before I replaced the gree drum head. I guess I just would like to know if you will have replacement drum pedals soon? There are none currently listed in your parts listing.

You need to test the kick drum connections have not been disturbed when you dismantled the kit to replace the green pad, the easiest way to do this is to unplug and remove one of your cymbals from it's holder and then plug the cymbal jack plug into the kick drum socket. While holding the cymbal in your hand, strike the cymbal with a stick and see if the kick drum triggers, if it doesn't then you need to investigate the connections inside the kit. if it does trigger, then you know it is the kick pedal at fault. There are quite a few pedals on e-bay so finding a replacement is not too hard.
