Postby SYwilson » Tue Mar 16, 2010 5:13 pm

Hi and thanks in advance for any replies, basically my child twisted my yellow cymbal round which in turn ripped the wire from the jack so i purchased one from the ebay shop ,never had no problem fitting it but when i started to play within a minute or 2 the cymbal would stop working so i would unplug the jack and plug back in and same again would work fine and then nothing, now i had no problem beforehand so was wodering if any one of you nice guys could point me in the right direction or could the wire /jack be dodgy
Regards Simon

Hi SYwilson

I would say from hearing the symptoms the first thing to check would be the jack on the underside of the cymbal that the cable plugs in to. It is possible that when the cymbal was originally turned around the cable was broken but also the jack could have been pulled loose. The way I would suggest testing it would be to go into music studio in your GH game then hit the offending cymbal repeatedly while moving the wire about beneath it, you may find that the cymbal only works when you move the wire up to the underside of the cymbal - this would indicate that the 3.5mm socket has had its connection to the small cymbal circuit board damaged that you may be able to repair with a bit of solder.

If this is not the answer for you get back and tell us what happens when you try the steps above and we can try and help some more.

Thanks
